Two-step verification at log-in

If you turned on two-step verification, QualiFlow asks for the 6-digit code from your authenticator app after your password on a new device. A recovery code works if you don't have your phone.

What it is

TWO-STEP VERIFICATION is a second check after your password, or after Google or Microsoft. It asks for the 6-digit code your authenticator app shows for QualiFlow. You see it only if you turned it on in Sign-in & security.

How to use it

  1. Open your authenticator app and find the QualiFlow entry for your email.
  2. On Enter your code, type the 6-digit code and select Verify and log in.
  3. No phone? Select Use a recovery code instead and enter one of your recovery codes (shaped like xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx).
  4. To go back to the app code, select Use your authenticator app instead. Back to log in starts over.

What the data means

The code changes every 30 seconds. When you turn two-step verification on, you get 10 recovery codes. Each recovery code works once.

QualiFlow asks for the code only on a new device. After you enter it, that browser is remembered for 30 days and logs in without it. Changing your password, turning two-step verification off and on, a support reset, or signing the device out under Sign-in & security → Your devices makes it ask again.

This step lasts 5 minutes. After that you go back to the log-in form with "Your sign-in timed out. Log in again."

A password reset signs you out everywhere but keeps two-step verification on.

Possible issues and fixes

My authenticator code is always wrong

Symptom: "That code didn't work. Check your authenticator app and try again."

Why: The phone's date or time is wrong, or the code is from another entry in the app.

Fix: Set the phone's date and time to automatic, wait for the next code, and use the QualiFlow entry with your email. Or use a recovery code.

How to check: The workspace opens.

I lost my phone and my recovery codes

Symptom: You can't get past this step.

Why: Without the app or a recovery code, you can't finish signing in, and a password reset doesn't turn the check off.

Fix: Try every recovery code you have left. If none work, ask a teammate who can log in to create a ticket in Support → Create a ticket with your account's email. Never put codes or passwords in a ticket. After checking it's you, QualiFlow support resets your two-step verification.

How to check: You can log in with your password, and Sign-in & security says "QualiFlow support reset your two-step verification. Set it up again." Set it up again straight away.

"Your sign-in timed out. Log in again."

Symptom: You're sent back to the log-in form.

Why: More than 5 minutes passed on the code step.

Fix: Log in again from the start and enter the code straight away.
